My latest obsession: Amelia Curran
I’ve been listening to Amelia Curran’s new album Hunter, Hunter non-stop for the past month or so now.
I listen to it at work. On the bus. When I prop myself in front of the mirror to do my hair. I can tell I’ve been playing a record obsessively at home when my boyfriend starts humming — or better yet, actually singing the words — along with the songs.
Steve’s at the humming point right now, although I’m sure he knows a few words from the singer-songwriter’s track “The Mistress.” At first I thought that was my favorite song, but now I’m leaning towards “All Me” followed closely by “Hands On A Grain Of Sand.”
I’m posting both “All Me” and “Hands On A Grain Of Sand” here for your listening pleasure. You can download “The Mistress” from her website for free.
Hunter, Hunter is the St. John’s native’s sophomore effort. It was released on Six Shooter Records on September 1, 2009.

I love her new album too! My favourite songs are ‘Bye Bye Montreal’ and ‘Hands On A Grain Of Sand’. Thanks for posting the songs!
Glad you noted “The Mistress”, easily one of my fave songs of the year so far. The others have yet to work the same magic on me, but that one—what a tune.

I stumbled across Amelia Curran on eMusic, and now “Fools of Gold” is one of my favourite songs. Will have to look for this new album. Cheers.
